Atelier & Trophy Craft Questions
Clear, transparent guidance on tanning, veterinary requirements, and overseas shipping.
Which species can be converted?
We handle all legally harvested African game species: Cape Buffalo, Kudu, Sable, Gemsbok, Zebra, Eland, Warthog tusks, Hippo leather, and Crocodile skins. Every item must have legal hunting permit provenance.
Do you handle trophies from other outfitters?
Yes. While many clients hunt directly with Kampvuur Safaris, our workshop welcomes salted capes and horns from any registered South African or regional African hunting concession.
What about CITES & export permits?
Our logistics team prepares all official provincial nature conservation export permits, veterinary health certificates, and CITES export documentation. All finished items are dispatched via fully insured tracked international air couriers.
How long does custom crafting take?
Organic vegetable tanning takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks to cure hide fibers permanently. Custom leather hand-stitching and Damascus forging add 3 to 6 weeks depending on commission volume.
